I could access google, yahoo etc. till yesterday. But now, when I booted my pc, I found that I am not able to open up these sites or any related sites like gmail, youtube etc.(Could open yahoomail.com though). It gets redirected to either a searchportal or an error page:First thing I did was to check my hosts file. It was clean.Code:500 Error - Web Site is Temporarily Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Then, I tried scanning my pc. Nothing suspicious.
Stopped dnscache service and tried again. No luck.
Then, I switched off my modem, switched it back on, and booted into ubuntu, suspecting an undetectable virus/malware in xp. But, the problem exists in ubuntu as well. Hosts file of ubuntu is also clean.
P.S. My ubuntu is like a live cd, but installed on hard disk, thanks to an error in wubi. So that means that there isn't any problem with my ubuntu. So it can't be a corrupted one either.
Any help would be appreciated.![]()
